Monday Mailbox

Truly an embarrassment of riches, I'd say! This past week's mailbox arrivals:

Summer Secrets by Jane Green came from St. Martin's Press.

I have long enjoyed Jane Green's books and this one about a woman who has to face her past at the risk of losing everything she loves in the present looks wonderful.

It's Not Me, It's You Mhairi McFarlane came from Harper and TLC Book Tours for a blog tour.

About a woman who takes the blame for everything that goes wrong in her life and who must learn not to accept responsibility when it really isn't her fault, this romantic fiction sounds really appealing.

Beneath the Bonfire by Nickolas Butler came from Thomas Dunne Books.

I loved Butler's debut novel and I can't wait to see what he does with this set of stories.

Miss Dreamsville and the Lost Heiress of Collier County by Amy Hill Hearth came from Atria.

This story sounds like a fun and kooky caper of a tale with a woman who rescues turtles, a former stripper and her grown son, a developer, and even a ghost.

The Secret Wisdom of the Earth by Christopher Scotton came from Grand Central Publishing.

A friend absolutely raved about this book set in the Kentucky mountains about a boy who has lost his brother and who, with a new friend in the town he and his mother have moved to, witnesses a terrible hate crime, so I am looking forward to reading it and chatting with her about it.

Things You've Inherited From Your Mother by Hollie Adams came from NeWest Press and TLC Book Tours for a blog tour.

The story of a woman handling grief in her own oddball, passive-aggressive, drinks-filled way, this looks entertaining in the extreme.

Are You Fully Charged by Tom Rath came from Silicon Guild.

Who couldn't use a zap to reexamine their lives now and again?

Love Maps by Eliza Factor came from Akashic Books and LibraryThing Early Reviewers.

The tale of a husband and wife who have been estranged for seven years and the way that love has not been the answer for them, rather more pain-filled and inconvenient, this sounds really different.

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger came from my Postal Mailbox Book Club.

The latest book in a round robin of books, I read this one many years ago already.

If you'd like to see the marvelous goodies in other people's mailboxes, make sure to visit Mailbox Monday and have fun seeing how we are all doing our part to keep the USPS and delivery services viable.

  1. Great week! The author of The Secret Wisdom Of The Earth is a super-nice guy. I met him at an author meet-and-greet in January. I've started the book and need to get back to it. Have a great week of reading!

I have had to disable the anonymous comment option to cut down on the spam and I apologize to those of you for whom this makes commenting a chore. I hope you'll still opt to leave me your thoughts. I love to hear what you think, especially so I know I'm not just whistling into the wind here at my computer.
